About Me
My husband and I chose Newburyport because it’s a community that values education, connection, and a shared commitment to making this a great place to live. We live in a multigenerational home in Ward 5 with our two kids and my mom. Whether hiking local trails, spending time at the beach, or walking downtown through historic streets and along the waterfront, we feel fortunate to call Newburyport home.
I grew up in Vineland, New Jersey, and went on to earn my BA in Communications from the University of Delaware and my MA in Communication Management from Emerson College. I started my career managing logistics for fundraising events at the American Diabetes Association and have spent over a decade at Amazon leading technical programs that involve coordinating teams, managing budgets, and aligning priorities to achieve results. These experiences have shaped how I approach challenges—with clarity, collaboration, and follow through.
Why I’m Running
I’m running for Ward 5 City Council because I care about this community and want to protect what makes Newburyport feel like home. It’s a place where neighbors look out for one another and step up to support each other.
Local decisions shape the lives of everyone who calls this community home. I’m committed to protecting the spaces we all share, preserving the character of our neighborhoods, and serving everyone fairly. I believe local government works best when it listens, responds, and works alongside residents. That’s the kind of leadership I’m ready to bring.
What I Bring to City Council
I’ve managed multiple local campaigns, including city council races and ballot initiatives, focusing on community priorities, conducting research, and communicating clearly throughout. Most recently, I served on the Yes for the Rec ballot committee, where I managed social media and developed clear informational materials that explained the vote, tax impact, and benefits of the project. Over a compressed timeline, we worked to reach as many residents as possible and provide them with the facts needed to make an informed decision at the polls. This experience reinforced how vital clear communication and resident engagement are in local government and inspired me to run so I can continue ensuring community voices are heard.
At Amazon, I lead programs that require coordinating across teams, managing budgets, and making decisions that align with long-term priorities. I regularly balance competing demands, bring people together to solve problems, and turn ideas into action. I take a clear, steady approach to decision-making and follow-through. On City Council, I will listen closely to residents, work collaboratively with others, and help shape policies that reflect the priorities of our community.
