The plan includes realigning the intersection to shorten pedestrian crossings, narrowing North Atkinson Street to calm traffic, and reconstructing sidewalks with accessible ramps. A 10-foot shared-use path with a 4-foot grass buffer is proposed on the west side of North Atkinson Street, extending to the Bresnahan School driveway. Additional elements include new street lighting, updated signage, pavement resurfacing, and utility adjustments. The conceptual design has been completed and submitted for review through the MassDOT Safe Routes to School Program.
